Rename

You can rename a slice by clicking the pencil icon next to the slice name at the top of the Slice Details page. Changing the name of your slice will also update its PTR / rDNS entry associated with the public IP address for the slice.

If a slice has a custom PTR/rDNS record there will be a notification in the form, along with a checkbox. If the checkbox is checked, the custom PTR/rDNS record will be removed and set to the new slice name. Otherwise, only the slice is renamed.

Note

Hostnames must not begin with a dash (“-“), and valid characters are: letters, numbers, dash and dot.
