.. _users_overview: Users Overview ============== **Users** are a powerful feature that allows you to manage granular permissions to resources in your account - including **Admin** users capable of managing **Regular** users. This allows for multiple departments and/or development teams to be managed under one account. There are three main levels of access in the Syminet Cloud: Primary User This is the primary account holder with full permissions to all resources and users. Only the primary user can grant or revoke **Admin** user privileges. Admin subuser This is a User granted **Admin** privileges by the **Primary User**. They have the following additional privileges: - Full "read-write" permissions to all resources. - Create and manage **Regular subusers**. - Create and manage :doc:`../account/service_transfers`. - View other **Admin** accounts (readonly). Regular subuser This is a regular account without **Admin** privileges. They do not have any access to view or manage other Users, and their permissions are granted *per-resource* by **Admin** users. This is described further in the :doc:`edit_permissions` section. .. Note:: Only the **Primary User** can modify **Admin** permissions for any user. .. Note:: Only users with **Admin** privileges have access to the Users area. Add a User ---------- To create a new user, click :guilabel:`Add User`. A window will open requesting the following: Username Enter a username for your new user. Email Address Enter an email address for your new user. An email will be sent to this address notifying them their account has been created, along with a link to set their password. Admin checkbox If enabled, this will grant **Admin** permissions at the outset. This can be changed later, and is only available to the **Primary User**. .. Note:: Username and Admin privileges can be changed later. Once created, the new user will show up in your users table along with links to manage them. Delete a User ------------- You can delete a user by clicking :guilabel:`Delete` in the entry for their username. You will be prompted to confirm. Once confirmed, the user is immediately deleted from your account. .. Hint:: If you would like to prevent a user from logging in without deleting their account, you can *Lock* their account under :doc:`edit_profile`..
