Service Transfers ================= **Service Transfers** are a powerful feature that allows you to transfer a slice to another account within the Syminet Cloud. This can be very useful for e.g. developers who have completed an application for a customer, and would like to handover the finished product. Or, teams who need a way to securely transfer slices between different primary accounts. .. Hint:: Service Transfers happen transparently; slices can be safely transferred while active with no downtime or interruption in services. .. Note:: Only :ref:`Admins ` can do service transfers. A service transfer consists of four steps: #. Create a service transfer code. #. Provide the transfer code to the recipient using secure means. #. Recipient processes the code in their panel and accepts the transfer. #. Transfer is complete. Billing stops for the sending account and begins for the recipient account. Over time, the service transfers page can have up to three sections as they occur: Pending Transfers currently active, awaiting the recipient to process their code. Sent Transfers sent out of your account, but no longer pending. Received Transfers that were received into your account. Each step is described in more detail below. Create a Service Transfer ------------------------- To create a service transfer, click :guilabel:`Create Service Transfer`. A window will appear requesting the following information: #. **Slice**: Select the slice you would like to transfer. #. Click :guilabel:`Create Transfer` You will be presented with another window containing your transfer code. You will need to **securely provide** this code to the recipient, who can use it to accept the transfer away from your account, to theirs. The service transfer will show up under the **Pending** section of the page, along with Creation and Expiration times. .. Note:: Service transfers automatically expire after 24 hours. Delete a Service Transfer ------------------------- If a service transfer is **Pending**, you can delete it by clicking :guilabel:`Delete` in the row for that transfer. The transfer will be cancelled and the code will no longer work. .. _accept_service_transfer: Accept a Service Transfer ------------------------- If you have receieved a Service Transfer code, here is how to process it: #. Login to the Syminet Cloud and click your username in the top right. In the dropdown menu that appears, click :guilabel:`Service Transfers` #. Paste your transfer code into the :guilabel:`Enter Transfer Code` field at the top of the page. #. Click :guilabel:`Review Transfer` #. You will be presented with a window describing the resource being transferred. #. You will need to click a checkbox agreeing to accept responsibility for the billing of the resource coming into your account. #. Click :guilabel:`Accept Transfer` to add the resource to your account. .. Important:: Billing is hourly and begins the moment you accept the services. Email is also sent to both your account and the sending account confirming the billing transfer.
